WebNov 30, 2006 · I have a 4490 and find it does an excellent job with medium format negs, but isn't really up to 35mm. A 35mm scan is good for 5x7, but the quality doesn't do it for me at 8x10. IMO, ICE is a worthless feature becasue it doesn't work with b&w, and it's painfully slow. I can fix the dust spots faster by hand. I bought both and have scanned in almost 700 pictures in the last 5 days with it- all while doing other things! I haven't even really needed to try all that hard. With the feeder, I can stack about 25 like-sized photos in, and let it rip while I go do whatever.
