WebJan 13, 2006 · I've heard that coolant filters in the 6.0 filters out the stop leak that Ford installs at the factory. Is the stop leak on only needed until the leak stops or is it a lifetime requirement? If it's lifetime, how does you reconcile the need for a coolant filter vs. coolant stop leak, if I may ask. And I'm not really trying to start a flame war here.
